UMass Boston Athletics Donates Over 1,000 Pounds of Food

BOSTON, Mass.—Led by the UMass Boston Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), members of the UMass Boston athletics community donated over 1,000 pounds of food items to local organizations before the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The Beacons donated items to the UMass Boston Office of Urban and Off-Campus Support Services (U-ACCESS) and A Place to Turn. 

In total, UMass Boston donated 918 items to U-ACCESS and over 600 pounds of food items to A Place To Turn. 

U-ACCESS is a department that helps support UMass Boston students who experience homelessness, chronic poverty and chronic hunger. A Place To Turn is a food pantry based in Natick, Massachusetts that provides emergency food and clothing to people in the Metrowest community.
